- Free City Avenue Special Services District Concert
The City Avenue Special Services District is pleased to present a FREE concert featuring Girls From Mars, and David Coppa and Scrapple on St. Mary’s Lawn of Saint Joseph’s University on June 27, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The concert is being held rain or shine. There will also be food and a balloon artist for the kids. Please bring chairs or blankets.
Ride CART for free the night of the concert.
Directions to the concert are as follows: At the traffic light, turn onto Lapsley Lane, which is located off of City Avenue, on the Lower Merion side between Old Lancaster Road and Raynham Road. Make the second left and look for concert event staff to direct you to the parking.
Girls From Mars replaces the previously announced opening act Wise & Foolish Builders. Girls From Mars capture the essence of a music that was born in smoky bars in the 1930s. True to that tradition, their intuitive harmonies are a joyous remembrance of the swing area.
The main act, David Coppa and Scrapple is a trio blues band playing Texas, Chicago and Philadelphia blues. Original and traditional. Dig the blues!
