Aqua Pennsylvania will close U.S. Route 1 (City Avenue) between Belmont Avenue and Monument Road in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays for water main installation beginning September 12, 2004 the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced on September 3, 2004.  The work is expected to finish by November 30, 2004.

During construction, Aqua Pennsylvania will detour Route 1 through traffic over Belmont Avenue, St. Asaphs Road, and Monument Road.  Local access will be maintained up the construction zone.  Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

Aqua Pennsylvania will complete the work under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
