There are many exciting projects underway on CityAve. We’re pleased to present the Gateway Project at 63rd and City Ave and the improved landscaping at One Merion Rd. Our Pedestrian Lighting Program is beginning to be implemented.

In collaboration with the new Target store, Pedestrian Lighting has been added to the new complex, helping to improve the overall safety and image of the District. The District is currently partnering with St. Joseph’s University and the Brickstone Companies to create a demonstration of the Pedestrian Lighting Project along 54th Street and City Ave to be completed in October 2007.

A zoning overlay that will make development projects along the Avenue both attractive and plentiful is in the works. We believe that with a focus on commercial partnerships throughout the District, the benefits are endless.

The Gateway to CityAve, at Presidential Blvd. and City Avenue was created with the support of the property owners on City Avenue and continues to be maintained by the District.

In the fall of 2007 the CityAve pedestrian bridge will be lit, improving a sense-of-place feel in the District. Check out the latest issue of CityAve News for updates on projects in the District.
