Aqua Pennsylvania will close Belmont Avenue weekdays between Rock Hill Road and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) beginning  Tuesday, May 2nd, through Tuesday., May 16th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for a water main installation, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

During the operation, Belmont Avenue through traffic will be detoured over Rockhill Road, Route 23 (Conshohocken State Road), and U.S. 1 (City Avenue). Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.  There will not be any through traffic during the road closure.

[Edit: Apparently, the nature of this infrastructure project makes it difficult to predict exactly how the work will progress.  It is unlikely that the entire stretch from Rock Hill Road to City Ave will be closed every weekday for the entire duration of the project, so some sections may be open from time to time.  The most severe restrictions are likely to be along the sections of road that are impacted on any given day.  That said, travel from one end to the other of the stretch may not be possible during the day, so drivers should plan alternate routes in the event they encounter delays.]
